The hall was nearly packed with audience, who heard the duo\u2019s fine interpretations of Beethoven\u2019s Sonata Op. 102 Nr. 1, Sebastian Fagerlund\u2019s <em>Rechants,<\/em> Wieniawski\u2019s <em>Scherzo-Tarantella,<\/em> and of the Rachmaninoff\u2019s Sonata Op. 19. As in Chicago, Seeli\u2019s performance of the violin virtuoso work on cello by Wieniawski aroused great interest and admiration.<\/p>\n<p>Kalle Toivio performed the Liszt Spanish Rhapsody for piano \u2013 a strong performance of the seriously difficult and virtuostic work. Mr. Toivio received well-deserved and enthusiastic bravos from the audience. After Liszt, the duo performed the Rachmaninoff Sonata for piano and cello.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seelitoivio.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/281176_10151114239897123_1790591916_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-873\" title=\"281176_10151114239897123_1790591916_o\" src=\"https:\/\/www.seelitoivio.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/281176_10151114239897123_1790591916_o-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>After the fine and succesfull performace of the Rachmaninoff&#8217;s nearly 45-minute Sonata for piano and cello, a full house applauded the duo back on stage many times, and they performed an encore \u2013 Jean Sibelius Romance in F Major. \u201d\u2026a little souvenir from Finland\u201d, said Seeli Toivio.<\/p>\n<p>The concert by Duo Toivio at the prestigious Carnegie Hall was most succesfull. Duo Toivio will indeed perform again in the US in 2013.
